June 2003:
Selected in the first round by the NY Mets - 12th pick overall in the 2003 amateur draft June-regular phase.

One of the best athletes in the 2003 draft, Milledge led his Lakewood Ranch High School Club to the State Championship in May 2003 with an exciting steal of home when his team was losing 4-1 in the 7th inning.

Called a Five Tools player - Lastings has extraordinary speed, an excellent glove in the outfield, a very strong and accurate arm, hits for power and hits for average.

It would seem Lastings is destined for fame in center field - if not in Shea Stadium, then certainly for a World Series contender.
