CDC: There's 1-in-10,000 chance of getting COVID from surfaces. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says there is a less than one-in-10,000 chance of catching COVID-19 from surfaces. The CDC has made clear that COVID-19 is a respiratory disease transmitted mainly through human-to-human interaction but noted last spring that "it may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their mouth, nose or possibly their eyes."
