Dolores O'Riordan, the lead singer of the Irish band The Cranberries, died suddenly at a London hotel this morning. The 46-year-old was in London for a "short recording session," according to her publicist. "Familiy members are devastated to hear the breaking news and have requested privacy at this very difficult time," the publicist added.
O'Riordan leaves behind her three children, Taylor, 20, Molly, 16, and Dakota, 12.
The cause of death is unclear. "At this early stage the death is bring treated as unexplained. Inquires continue," says a rep for the Metropolitan Police.
The singer battled depression in the past and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2015. She had most recently been dealing with ongoing back problems.
