Calgary veteran who survived Dunkirk causes a stir at movie premiere

An old veteran who was there at Dunkirk in 1940 went to see Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk re-imagining, and left in tears.

The tears were for those whom he had lost, his fellow soldiers, his friends whom he watched die during the battle of Dunkirk during World War II. It seems as though Christopher Nolan's vision for such a sacred piece of British history was spot on;

"It didn't have a lot of dialogue. It didn't need any of the dialogue because it told the story visually and it was so real."
" I never thought I would see that again. It was just like I was there again."

As a producer this is perhaps the strongest praise you can receive, especially from someone whom was there themselves. To be transported as if time was forgotten, to experience the same emotions borne anew; that is what Dunkirk means.

Dunkirk is now playing in local theatres, let us know what you think.
