Owner's McLaren 600LT Impounded Minutes After Driving The Car Off The Lot
A Canadian driver found out the hard that Canada doesn’t mess around with excessive speeding. The McLaren 600LT, which can reach 100MPH in less than 6 seconds, was going 44 MPH over the speed limit when police caught him. The kicker? The owner had just completed the purchase minutes before.
Under British Columbia law, anyone going 40km/h over the posted speed limit will immediately have his or her car impounded. 40km/h is roughly 25MPH. The McLaren was doing about 70KM/H over the speed limit and as a result, it too was impounded.
However, the fine for such an offense ~$368, probably isn’t too much of a pinch for someone who can purchase a vehicle that is valued at over $240,000.
