Rick Springfield Moves Festival From Dominican Republic To Mexico As Tourist Death Count Grows
Rick Springfield who has held his “Rick Springfield & Friends” music festivals for nearly 10 years has moved his 2020 festival to Mexico from the Domincan Republic. Springfield made the announcement saying, “In an abundance of caution and for the peace of mind and well-being of my fans, band and crew, the ‘Rick Springfield & Friends’ event in Punta Cana is being rescheduled to take place at Hard Rock Hotel Cancun in 2020.”
These music festivals started on cruises and then moved to land and resorts. In the lineup along with Springfield was going to be Patty Smyth, host Mark Goodman actor Doug Davidson and musical guest Guns & Mullets.
Springfield goes on to add that the decision to postpone the 2019 concert was not easy, but the “safety and well-being of our amazing fans, band and crew will always be the most important consideration in any situation.”
The festival which was suppose to be held in the D.R. would have been the first concert held there.
