SPECIAL REPORT: Trump: 'It was an act of pure evil'

President Donald Trump addressed the nation after a Las Vegas shooting left at least 50 dead, and more than 400 injured.

The father of Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock was a bank robber who escaped prison and ended up on the FBI's Top 10 Most Wanted list from 1969 to 1977. In his wanted poster after escaping prison in 1969, Benjamin Hoskins Paddock was described as “diagnosed as psychopathic” with possible "suicidal tendencies." He died in 1998.

Stephen Paddock committed suicide late last night in his 32nd floor room at Mandalay Bay. It was from a window in that room that he opened first on 22,000 concert goers below. So far 58 people have been confirmed dead and 515 others were injured. It is unclear why 64-year-old Paddock carried out the attack.
