Chief: Man shot, killed by police as LMPD, National Guard were breaking up protesters
Louisville police chief fired after officers kill an unarmed man at protest. LMPD Chief Steve Conrad has been fired after no officers involved in the killing of Dave McAtee had their body cameras activated. Mayor Greg Fischer announced the termination of the embattled chief after it was announced that no body-camera footage was available from the shooting of David McAtee. Conrad already had agreed to resign from his position by the end of June after the controversial police killing of Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old emergency room technician who was killed in her own home by Louisville Metro Police Department [LMPD] officers.
