Dispelling a mistruth right now- there's more to getting ripped in your core than just doing situps. Hell, there are more movements than just situps, planks and russian twists, but these always seem to be the go-to.

Your abdominal muscles form a girdle around your core that extends through your sides (where we traditional see "love handles") and through your back. Including a variety of core specific movements into your workout is the best way to ensure you hit each muscle group to get the cut core look.

Thing of it is, traditional movements such as rowing, cleans, pullups, muscle-ups,  even deadlifts incorporate your core to maintain stability- trust me, after plenty of repetitions you'll feel it. Point is, there's no one golden answer to perfecting the perfecting the cut core.
