Our certificated program is a non-degree program of study for prospective students, lay persons, or others interested in exposure to religious and theological studies. The Certificate of Orthodox Theological Studies is designed to offer a general introduction to Orthodox theology. As a part of this program students take introductory graduate-level courses on various Coptic Orthodox topics such as, scripture church history, dogmatism, patristics, and Cannon Law.
Students who earn a Certificate of Orthodox Theological Studies can advance to a Masters of Divinity or PhD in Theology. However, this program does not provide the educational or Pastoral requirements necessary for priestly ordination.
