A study published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research by Tel Aviv University and Hebrew University researchers explores another promising new medical application for Cannabidiol. According to the research, the administration of the non-psychotropic component cannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD) significantly helps heal bone fractures. The study found that CBD markedly enhanced the healing process after bone fractures and made bones stronger.
The research indicates the undeniable clinical potential of CBD in regulating bone mass and the maintenance of bone health. The recent findings on bone fracture healing have given the medical world the biochemical proof that it’s been looking for. CBD stimulates bone-building cells to express the genes involved in producing the primary enzyme involved in bone healing, and this is an important step forward in the quest to learn more about the impact of cannabis on human health.
The findings strongly suggest that CBD can be supportive in the healing and recovery process of sports injuries and in the treatment or prevention of skeletal degeneration conditions associated with aging, particularly bone loss, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis that affect 44 million Americans and 55% of people aged 50 or older.
