We understand the sensitive nature of our area of specialization and
make every effort to educate our patients and to make them comfortable
with their course of treatment. In our practice, one of our doctors is
always on call. That means that as a patient of Gastrointestinal
Surgical Specialists, you will always be seen by a board certified Colon
and Rectal Surgeon.
Utilizing the latest in surgical
techniques including laparoscopic surgical technology, anorectal
ultrasound and colonoscopy, the physicians of Gastrointestinal Surgical
Specialists treat and care for diseases of the colon and rectum. Our
surgeons have completed training in General Surgery with additional
specialized training specific to the treatment of diseases of the colon
and rectum. These include such entities as hemorrhoids, anal fissures
and fistulas, bowel incontinence and the management of diverticulosis,
benign and malignant polyps of the colon and rectum, irritable bowel
syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease(Crohn’s disease and ulcerative
colitis), and constipation. Our physicians have expertise in sphincter
saving surgery for rectal cancer, ulcerative colitis and familial
polyposis. We also offer screening for colorectal cancer and colonoscopy
and treat complex anorectal disorders including incontinence and pelvic
floor abnormalities.
