What are features of your home that you've really enjoyed?
We have really loved relaxing, reading and enjoying a glass of wine on the front and screen porches overlooking the golf course and very private back yard.
What can you tell us about your neighborhood?
Our neighborhood is great for privacy and beautiful, mature landscaping. The neighbors are very friendly and most welcoming.
What do you love about your town?
The things we love about Mount Pleasant are excellent county services, many things to do, great parks overlooking creeks and rivers, and Patriots Point.
Where do you love to eat?
We love to eat on our screen porch overlooking the beautiful back yard. A few Mount Pleasant restaurants that we enjoy are Bricco Bracco, Crave, Langdon's, Burton's, Graze and Morgan Creek Grill. Downtown Charleston is just thirty minutes away...there are too many restaurants to mention.
Grocery stores and other conveniences?
When we brought our home, we were drawn to the size of the lot, security of a gated community with round the clock patrols, the established neighborhoods and easy access to a great golf course.
What do you love about the area?
A few other things that we can mention are the beauty of the low country and everything that historical Charleston has to offer.
What other things do you love/enjoy about the area?
We love going the beaches of Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island...simply beautiful places and a short drive from our house. Our pup really enjoys running on the beach and swimming in the ocean!
What are your average monthly utility costs and with whom?
Our utility costs are reasonable--electric cost ranges from a low of $125 during the spring/fall months to an average high of $400 during the peak cooling season. Water cost is approximately $55/month. We have a 100 gallon propane gas tank that is used for cooling, gas logs during the winter and the hot water tank.
Anything else? Neighborhood amenities?
In addition to a beautiful clubhouse and golf course in Dunes West, a few other things we can mention are a fabulous kids pool area with a slide, tennis courts, adult swimming pool and fitness center. It is a wonderful area for walking, cycling, and running.
HOA info?
HOA fee is currently $1,506; paid in two installments, $753 each on Jan 1st and July 1st. There is a ''working capital fee'' or transfer fee of 2 months worth of dues. Private roads slated to be repaved in 2017. Amenities membership packages based on activity/package type; John Wheelon Homes is selling amenities to a currently undisclosed company soon, managed by Dunes West Golf Club.
