One Direction Goes Old-School with New “Mystery Machine” Van
One Direction band members Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson posted a photo of their new van painted exactly like the mystery machine, the colorful 70’s van from the hit cartoon show. Scooby and the gang would be very proud to know their van has become as iconic as it has.
In the Hanna-Barbera show, Scooby-doo, and his friends Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Fred, go around solving mysteries in the multicolored van. Getting their van to look the exact same as in the show cost One Direction over $100,000 at Yianna Charambous’s customized car shop. Tomlinson tweeted his gratitude to the shop after getting the car back.
The van apparently comes equipped with all sorts of creature comforts including individual entertainment consoles so they do not get bored on long journeys. One source says if all goes well they will be taking the van with them on their U.S. summer tour.
