Honest Review: Kindle E-reader 6" Glare-Free Touchscreen Display

For people who love to read books but don't want to carry books around them or don't want to buy expensive hard copy of books, the Kindle E-reader is for you! The Kindle E-reader is designed and marketed by Amazon. The device enable user to browse, buy, download, and read e-books, newspapers, magazines and other digital media via wireless networking to the Kindle Store.

Price

  • $79.99 (with special offers)
  • $99.99 (without special offers)

The Kindle E-reader 6" glare-free touchscreen display available in your choice of black and white. The one comes with special offers is $79.99. "Special offers" is a euphemism for advertisements that appear on the Kindle’s lock screen. If the advertisements bother you, you can pay $20 more to get the one without special offers. I personally do not mind the advisements because the advertisements are mostly ads for new books that you can download from the Kindle Store, so I see it as new books recommendation more than just advertisement.

Pros:

  • It weights about 161g, so it's definitely lighter than most hard copy books.
  • It comes with Kindle Store, downloading a book just as easy as 1 single tap.
  • No eyes strain, reads like real paper.
  • Unlike reading on a tablet, you can read on the kindle under the sun.
  • Battery lasts weeks!
  • With built-in Audible, access the world’s largest library of audiobooks.

Cons:

  • Since reading on Kindle is like reading a real book, you can't read on it under low light source.
  • Many bestsellers is not on the Kindle Store.
  • The photo display on the Kindle is black and white.
  • The screen is quite small.

Where to buy?

You can buy it from Amazon and the shipping is free. I brought mine on the National book Day and got an $20 discount.
