A problem with side airbags suddenly inflating has resulted in Toyota recalling 1.4 million cars worldwide, while another problem with fuel emissions controls has resulted in the recall of 2.87 million vehicles in China, Japan and Europe.
The airbag recall affects nearly 500,000 Prius hybrids, Prius plug-ins and Lexus CT200h cars in the United States. They were produced between October 2008 and April 2012. The fuel emission controls recall includes the Prius, Auris, Corolla, Zelas, Lucas and Lexus HS250h and CT200h. They were produced from April 2006 to August 2015.
