It appears cosmetics and over the counter drugs are on their way to being free of microbeads. The House of Representatives has approved a bill that will stop companies from putting tiny plastic beads in their cosmetic products. The ban would begin in 2017. It is now up to the Senate to pass the The Microbead Free Waters Act.
