Having a child changes you, in more ways than one.
Before Lemmie, I had all the time I wanted to workout, track macros, go for walks, do whatever I needed to do to work towards my goals.
I’m currently doing body weight squats next to her as she swings in her baby swing.
And I thought to myself, is this my life now? 😂
I used to go to the gym any time of the day I wanted.
I could workout when I wanted.
I could eat without interruption.
I had less brain fog to remember to do the simple things I need to do like take pictures to track my progress.
But I will tell you why this doesn’t worry me!
For one, this is temporary.
The newborn stage can be hard. It requires a lot of attention. (And I know that doesn’t stop, but it’s all new for me as a first time mom)
Second, those who get results and keep them, focus on SOMETHING over nothing.
Sometimes that means a 15 minute workout while your kid takes a nap.
Sometimes that means your biggest win was only hitting your water goal for the day.
And sometimes that even means reminding yourself that tomorrow is always a new day.
This is my new normal and I have to learn how to navigate reaching my goals while being a mom.
Just because something is hard, doesn’t mean it’s impossible.
I just have to re-learn what will work for me in this phase of my life.
This is my new normal.
And instead of thinking that this is too hard, that I can’t reach my goals because it’s more difficult now…
I am going to embrace the challenge.
It’s going to take trial and error, but the reason it’s going to work is because I won’t give up.
And above anything, I will be consistent.
Perfection is not required! 👏🏼
